Perancangan Pusat Konservasi Budaya Kuliner Etnis Tionghoa Indonesia berdasarkan Analisa Elemen Food Heritage di Pecinan Jakarta

Globalization is an inevitable global phenomenon. This phenomenon affected all aspects of human life, including the food culture of diverse Indonesian Chinese ethnicity. People tends to prefer fast food as their choice of food because of its practicality that suits their global lifestyle well. This issue automatically caused in lack of appreciation from the millenials towards their own food culture. It is also worsened by the lack of documentation and data of the food culture itseld. Therefore, there needs to be a conservation centre regarding the food culture of Indonesian Chinese ethnicity which can aware those millenials about the importance of food culture focusing on conservation and education.
Indonesian Chinese ethnicity is a unique ethnic because of its assimilation within Chinese, Nusantara and a little bit of colonial. Various events happened towards the ethnic taking place mostly in Chinatown area of Batavia, making it an important area for their culture and history. This makes their culture worthy to be conservated, and in this case, its food culture. In their food culture, there are lots of gastronomy elements (food heritage) such as tradition, ingredients, techniques, cutleries, religious/ ritual/ celebration influences, and so on. These elements make up the basic of spatial and architectural aspects of the designed Conservation Centre of Indonesian Chinese ethnicity's Food Culture in Jakarta's Chinatown.
